The Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange continues to grow with the addition of a new participant.

The Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) took part in the 35th edition of ESNOG, the forum for Spanish network operators, which was held on 16 and 17 April in Madrid, hosted by Universidad Carlos III. CATNIX presented the main new developments of the Catalan IXP and the recent evolution of its infrastructure.

The Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) has recently incorporated a new DNS root server (L-root), operated by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), which replaces the previous system and strengthens the name resolution ecosystem in Catalonia.

The Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) held the 53th Technical Commission Meeting on November 28. This is a regular meeting that brings together members of the IXP to share updates and coordinate actions.

The Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) has increased the connection speed between its Campus Nord and Equinix nodes, from 100 Gbps to 200 Gbps.

The multinational Meta has multiplied by ten its connection to the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) at the Equinix node.

CDMON has upgraded its connection to the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange Point (CATNIX), increasing from 1 Gbps to 5 Gbps. This upgrade strengthens the company’s infrastructure and responds to the growing demand for web hosting, domain management, and cloud solutions.

CATNIX has completed the upgrade of its RIPE RIS equipment, moving from a physical machine to a virtual machine with greater memory, CPU, and capacity than the previous platform. This improvement enables more efficient and scalable service management.

On October 30th and 31st, the 34th edition of ESNOG, the periodic forum of the Spanish network operators group, was held in Barcelona.

The IXP Manager platform is now in production at the Catalonia Internet Exchange Point (CATNIX) and accessible through its portal.
