New replica of .com, .net and of the DNS root

VeriSign and the former CESCA have installed a replica of the root servers A and J, and the TLD (Top Level Domains) .com and .net. With these new replicas, managed by VeriSign, and the one of the F root server, already available, the query response time to the DNS (Domain Name System) is improved and the security is increased, because the global impact in case of DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attacks is reduced. Specifically, two Cisco 3825 routers have been installed at the former CESCA as well as four Sun Fire X2200, in order to provide these replicas.
