32nd edition of ESNOG held in Barcelona
The Spanish Network Operators Group (ESNOG) held the 32nd edition of the ESNOG forum on October 24-25. The event took place in the Auditorium of the Vèrtex Building at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and gathered around 90 attendees. CATNIX, the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange Point managed by CSUC, was one of the primary organizers and sponsors.
CATNIX celebrates its 25th anniversary and strengthens its network with a new connection at Barcelona CLS
CATNIX celebrated its 25th anniversary in an event held at the Cloister of the University of Barcelona. The ceremony included representatives from other IXPs, connected entities, and university representatives. The celebration coincides with the launch of a new node at Barcelona CLS, which will increase data traffic by 25%.
Estabanell connects to the new CATNIX node at the Barcelona Cable Landing Station
Estabanell has connected to the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) at 10 Gbps. This connection was made at the new Point of Presence (PoP) that the Catalan IXP recently installed at the Barcelona Cable Landing Station (Barcelona CLS), operated by AFR-IX, which has become the fourth PoP for CATNIX in Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
Upgrade of the Campus Nord Route Server
The Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) has upgraded its route server located at Campus Nord to further facilitate route exchange between the different members of the IXP.
Microsoft upgrades its connection to CATNIX up to 200 Gbps
Microsoft has upgraded its connection to the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) from 40 Gbps to 200 Gbps. This upgrade has been achieved through two channels of 100 Gbps each.
