Guifi.net has consolidated in a single location the two connections that were previously distributed between Equinix and Barcelona Cable Landing Station (Barcelona CLS). This move marks a new step in the evolution of its infrastructure within Catalonia’s internet exchange point.
A year ago, Guifi.net expanded its capacity at CATNIX by activating a new 10 Gbps port at the Barcelona CLS, complementing its existing port at Equinix. At that time, the organization announced a connectivity reorganization strategy aimed at improving efficiency and adapting its networks to future requirements.
