British Telecom es connecta al CATNIX

British Telecom joins CATNIX at 100 Gbps

The British telecommunications company British Telecom (BT) joined the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange in early September.

This new connection reinforces the international appeal of Catalonia’s main IXP and will enable BT to enhance its Internet traffic exchange capabilities with other operators and service providers connected to this infrastructure.

The connection has been established through the node that CATNIX hosts at the Equinix data centre, where BT has connected at a speed of 100 Gbps. This new connection will allow BT to optimise its IP traffic exchanges with the other members of the IXP, reducing latency and improving data transport efficiency.

With the arrival of BT, CATNIX now exceeds 50 connected networks, including content providers and technology companies seeking to improve connectivity with Catalonia and the rest of the Iberian Peninsula.
