Guifi.net amb un nou port a Barcelona LCS

Guifi.net expands its capacity with a new port at the Barcelona CLS

Guifi.net has launched a new 10 Gbps port at the Barcelona Cable Landing Station (Barcelona CLS), one of the four Points of Presence (PoP) of the CATNIX in Barcelona and its metropolitan area. With this new port, Guifi.net now has two active 10 Gbps ports at CATNIX: one at the Barcelona CLS and another at Equinix.

This move is part of a transition strategy that includes, in a second phase, decommissioning the current port at Equinix and activating a new 10 Gbps port at bitNAP. Once the migration is complete, Guifi.net will operate two 10 Gbps ports: the newly launched one at the Barcelona CLS and another at bitNAP, which will improve the redundancy and efficiency of its infrastructure.

Guifi.net is an open, free, and neutral telecommunications network driven by citizens. Anyone, individuals or organizations, can connect to it and contribute to its growth. Guifi.net’s goal is to ensure universal access to the network and promote technological sovereignty.
