On 16 and 17 May, the 23rd meeting of the Spanish Network Operators Group (ESNOG) was held in Madrid, this time hosted by MediaLab Prado and with the participation of the Neutral Internet Exchange in Catalonia (CATNIX).

The objective of this annual meeting is to bring together telecommunications operators, academic networks and Internet providers in Spain to share experiences, exchange technical knowledge and collaboration and share  issues related to this profession.

Maria Isabel Gandia, head of Communications at the CSUC, presented ‘Novelties in CATNIX’, available in spanish, where she explained the main activities carried out at the Neutral Internet Exchange in Catalonia, which celebrated its 20th birthday in April.

In addition, it has been announced that the next edition of ESNOG will be held in Barcelona.

Among the novelties presented by Gandia, the following stand out: the extension of the Campus Nord-Equinix link to 30 Gbps, the implementation of the new ticketing tool ‘Service Desk’, the two new speed tests that CATNIX has launched and the incorporation of CATNIX as a neutral point in the Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS).
