New Network Time Protocol at Campus Nord

CSUC has installed a new Network Time Protocol server (NTP) at the Campus Nord node. This server, a Meinberg Lantime M320, allows synchronization of both the Anella Científica equipment and the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX).

An NTP server is a device that provides the exact time to devices connected to a network. Its main function is to ensure that all devices share the same precise time, which is essential for security and telecommunications in general. The new Meinberg Lantime M320 offers high precision, a powerful and easy-to-use web interface, and includes receivers for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou, among other notable features.
