Hurricane Electric upgrades its connection to CATNIX at 20 Gbps

The global internet service provider Hurricane Electric upgraded its connection in December from 10 Gbps to 20 Gbps. This was achieved through a 100 Gbps port at the point of presence that CATNIX has at Equinix.

Hurricane Electric was the first CATNIX member to connect at 10 Gbps in 2005, and it has now doubled its speed to 20 Gbps to ensure service quality, handle growth, and maintain a competitive market position.

Hurricane Electric, headquartered in California, was founded in 1994. It operates its own IPv4 and IPv6 network, considered the largest IPv6 backbone in the world by the number of connected networks. Its infrastructure includes redundant 100G connections spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, and it is present at more than 320 exchange points, including CATNIX, where it directly exchanges traffic with over 9,600 different networks.
