Conference on ‘Route-servers and how to make the most of it with manners’

On June 22 CSUC held the conference on “Route-servers and how to make the most of it with manners”, prior to the 38th meeting of the Technical Commission of the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange Point (CATNIX).

The presentation, carried out by Manel Pérez and Maria Isabel Gandia, both from CSUC, consisted on an introduction to route-servers, with a comparison regarding bilateral peerings and an explanation of the functioning of communities. The speech included a comparison of the study of possibilities made by the route-servers of CATNIX and a summary of the MANRS initiative, in which all participants have been encouraged to participate.

Afterwards, during the meeting of the Technical Commission, CATNIX members received the book “How we create the Internet”, from Andreu Veà and courtesy of RedIRIS, as a gift for the 25th anniversary of the Anella Científica (Scientific Ring).
