{"id":1859,"date":"2018-10-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catnix.net\/catnix-joins-the-manrs-initiative\/"},"modified":"2018-10-23T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-10-23T00:00:00","slug":"catnix-joins-the-manrs-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catnix.net\/en\/catnix-joins-the-manrs-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"CATNIX joins the MANRS initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Being part of MANRS as an IXP implies fulfilling at least three out of five requirements. <a href='https:\/\/www.manrs.org\/ixps\/ixp-participants\/entry\/548\/' target='_blank' rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CATNIX<\/a> complies with all five, something that only the Neutral Internet Exchange (<a href='https:\/\/www.nl-ix.net\/' target='_blank' rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NL-IX<\/a>) had reached before.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Filtering of route announcements. CATNIX uses a Route-Server from Bird to validate received route announcements and subsequently filter them to other peers. <\/li>\n<li>Promote MANRS among the IXP community. This action considers, at the same time, CATNIX&#8217;s will to inform about the benefits of applying MANRS criteria among its members, to offer them assistance or to disseminate the MANRS initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Protect the peering platform. CATNIX does it through a published policy of not allowed traffic on the peering fabric. <\/li>\n<li>Facilitate global operational communication and coordination between network operators. <\/li>\n<li>Provide monitoring and debugging tools.
