Updating CATNIX Speed Test

The new CATNIX Speed Test update is now available on its website. This free service allows users to check the quality of internet connection in an easy way, showing up the upload and download speeds in megabits per second (Mbps) and the latency in milliseconds (ms), as well as information on the provider and a graph on the evolution test.

On this occasion, Ookla, the US Company whose software is used by the CATNIX Speed Test, has updated its font-end as to make it compatible with HTML5.

Among other improvements, this last update removes the Flash that many browsers do not support and that, at the same time, facilitates its use on mobile devices. Indeed, results can be shared on social networks (Twitter and Facebook), or copying the link with the results. The update allows a manual customization, and provides a more fashionable image, clear and intuitive, which is automatically adapted to the language setup on your browser. Although the Catalan version is still not available, Ookla plans to include this language on future occasions.

It should be noted that as the server that hosts the Speed Test has also been updated automatically, it allows tests as of 1 Gbps.

Compared to other similar ones, CATNIX Speed Test stands out for its independence from the operator that provides the internet connection. Another advantage is its location at the Neutral Exchange Point, which provides a low latency.
