The Spanish academic and research network (RedIRIS) has upgraded on March 16th its connection speed to the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX) from 10 Gbps up to 100 Gbps.
RIPE, the body that coordinates IP networks in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia, has opened two calls for funding to attend the 86th RIPE Meeting edition, a biannual meeting that brings together Internet Service Providers, network operators and other interested parties to discuss policies and procedures used by RIPE. This RIPE 86 edition will be held in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) from 22 to 26 May.
Telecom operator Adamo has upgraded its connection to CATNIX from 50 Gbps to 100 Gbps.
The Anella Científica has extended its connection speed to CATNIX, from the 20 Gbps it had since the last expansion in 2020 to the current 40 Gbps.
The Technical Commission has received the participation as speaker from João Luis Silva Damas of the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). The presentation, held prior to the meeting of this Comission, dealt with aspects of the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), QUIC (Quick UDP Internet Connections) network control protocols and the BBR algorithm for network congestion control.
The telecom company Near IP, connected to CATNIX since july, has upgraded its connection speed from 5 Gbps to 10 Gbps. Near IP is connected to CATNIX via the bitNAP node, one of the three Points of Presence (PoP) that CATNIX has.
The Centre de Telecomunicacions i Tecnologies de la Informació de Catalunya (CTTI) has upgraded their connection to the CATNIX, going from the current 40 Gbps to 200 Gbps, through two channels of 100 Gbps each one.
