Manuel Méndez presents the state of the art of networks for artificial intelligence workloads

On Friday June 28th at 11:30 am, Manuel Méndez, from Arista, has given the presentation "Network Fabrics for Artificial Intelligence Workloads". This session took place before the 50th meeting of the Technical Commission, held at CSUC's facilities. The conference could also be followed online through Teams.

During the presentation, Méndez analyzed the network traffic characteristics of Machine Learning (ML) training and inference, and the requirements to build network fabrics to interconnect xPUs at speeds of 200/400/800 Gbps. In addition, the session included a comparison between InfiniBand and Ethernet technologies, as well as current techniques for optimizing RDMA (RoCEv2) traffic in IP/Ethernet network structures and the future of UltraEthernet.
