CATNIX representation at the 37th Euro-IX Forum

Maria Isabel Gandia, Head of Communications at CSUC, which also manages the Catalonia Neutral Internet Exchange (CATNIX), has presented this IXP to the 37th Euro-IX Forum, held from October 9-11 in Edinburgh (Scotland). This edition had two hosts: the London Internet Exchange (LINX) and the London-based Internet Exchange Point (LONAP).

The talk, included in the technical session on October 11, explained the evolution of the Catalan IXP from its beginning in 1999 to the present, reviewing the different peering platforms it has had, the equipment and its architecture.

The Euro-IX forum is a biannual meeting that brings together IXP to share experiences and attend both technical and commercial sessions aimed at deepening issues related to IXPs.

Coinciding with the 37th edition of this forum, voting members elected new members to the Euro-IX Board of Directors. Maria Isabel Gandia has been re-elected for the second time, after she’s on the committee since 2020. Eileen Gallagher from INEX and Stefan Wahl from LU-CIX have also been elected.
