On the technical side, attendees saw the trends in 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps interfaces and the evolution of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICS), as well as the latest developments in PeeringDB, which now includes new functionalities, apart from more automation, the use of APIs and the evolution of peering.
On the regulatory side, there was a talk on the NIS2 directive on cybersecurity measures and the impact on IXPs and their customers, as well as certifications such as ISO27000 for the implementation, maintenance and management of the Management System Information Security.
The Euro-IX forum is a biannual meeting that brings IXPs together to share experiences and attend both technical and commercial sessions aimed at deepening issues related to IXPs. Maria Isabel Gandia, Head of Communications at CSUC, is member of the Board of Directors of Euro-IX.
